Signatures etc

It would seem that while creation gives evidence to God (Romans 1:21, the heavens declare etc) it is only humanity that bears the "image" of God and therein we can only glimpse God by looking at our neighbour.

If true (and I'm posting this en route to more thinking about the above statement) what does this mean for the artist.

Deaf, dumb, and inanimate at best is our art if it is the artist and the artist only who bears the image of the Creator...
