I know alot of people are still processing this years Telling the Truth Conference,with keynote speakers Jamie Howison and Gord Johnson of St. Benedict's Table in Winnipeg. Let's face it...it was different this year. It was nomadic, moving around Victoria neighbourhoods.It was contemplative. It was local stories...a feast of stories, local creatives nurturing and planting there creativity locally. It was three days.
Anyways, share your thoughts with us...the good and bad. How can we make this better.

Yes, this years TTT conference was different, for the better I thought, both visually and espressively, more polished and charismatic with song and feeling which was personally quite moving and added much to Friday night's venue, a great job done by everyone involved in and behind the scenes. I thouraghly enjoyed being a participant reading my poetry and sharing my art and as well being an observer/listener. The poetry workshop with Carla Funk was particularly inspiring for me. I enjoyed Jamie Howison’s thoughts on complentative worship, how we can attune ourselves to the voice of God by quieting our lives and our minds, stilling our souls, thus enabling us to have that open chanell to hear God’s voice and receive what He has to give in love and wisdom and wonders, which is part of our communication and relationship we have with Him.
The art/ poetry/music we share does inspire a quiet deeper passion and speaks to us, (our hearts) in this way often of quiet reflection as we respond to it, as it speaks to us all indivually or even sometimes not at all. All has a place for the right reasons and we as God’s peoplecan be a vessel and voice to pour forth the good news and truth to a hungry, thirtsy world, but most importantly as astists we can be used by God by the gifts He has given us to give Him Glory as James Nesbit said so wonderfully and I agree that is our intention as Christian artists and to do so with dignity.
There is a place for contemplative worship and there is a place for Spirit filled charismatic worship too, one that brings praise and worship out in us in song and celebration, a letting go and outward expression pouring forth from our hearts our love for God. We can only sit quiet for so long especially us creative souls and souls on fire! I'd like to thank everyone for doing such a nice job in their particualr art and spiritual gift and for developing a unity within the Christian arts community as Poasis is doing. I’m thankful to be a part of the body of Christ in this way that has great meaning… looking forward to next year!
