Plans Underway for Telling the Truth 2007

Telling the Truth 2007 - Oct 25-27: igniting the imagination of the church...

Summer has finally arrived in Victoria, and you know what that means.... only a few months till our Fall conference on the Arts and the Church - known as "Telling the Truth" (after the Frederick Buechner book). I know, its a bit crazy to be looking forward to October, but trust me...you want to check this one out.

This will be the 3rd Annual TTT conference and its already shaping up to be quite the party. The conference has expanded to a 3 day/night event, with imported guest speakers as well as local favourites. New this year is a Thursday night keynote lecture and Q&A session with our guest speaker (Oct 25) . The "show and tell" gallery is back by popular demand (Friday Oct 26th). Saturday (Oct 27) will be a full day of workshops, sharing of stories / experiences, and listening to words of inspiration and challenge. Then we put all theory into practice by participating in a Service together Saturday night.

More information about location and registration will be coming out later in the month.
But for now:

  • mark your calendars for Oct 25-27!
  • talk to your friends, church leaders, artists / musicians / writers about the conference
  • start writing / painting / snapping photos / recording music etc for the gallery *note - this year's gallery will stand as a separate event so you can invite guests to come see your work as well as conference participants

In order for this to be a truly ecumenical event we need your help to spread the word. Posters / brochures and registration forms will be available at the end of August. Leave a comment below if you're interested in helping to distribute this info.

Have a great summer all - and stay tuned for fall!

Looks like a great event. A far jaunt for me but I want to make it anyways.

I would also love to spread the out here on the prairies.

There - I've made my intentions known. Now what?
