SO, I came across these words in Annie Dillard's "Holy the Firm" (such an amazing little book), and thought to myself...DUST and LIGHTers need to read this:
There is no such thing as an artist: there is only the world, lit or unlit as the light allows. When the candle is burning, who looks at the wick? When the candle is out, who needs it? But the world without light is a wasteland and chaos, and a life without sacrifice is an abomination.
What can any artist set on fire but his world....What can an artist use but materials, such as they are? What can he light but the short string of his gut, and when that's burnt out, any muck ready to hand?
Great stuff eh? Maybe we need flaming moth exhibit for DUST and LIGHT? (read the book...it'll all make sense). In the meantime, let's keep pushing eachother to join in the creative truth telling process: providing the wicks as it were for His light to shine.

From the first line of the first song of the Stars latest album:
"When there's nothing left to burn, you've got to set yourself on fire."
